Le tromboniste et compositeur Claude St-Jean a toujours voulu créer une symbiose musicale qui combinerait l’aspect fanfare-cirque cuivré à souhait de L’Orkestre des Pas Perdus et la mécanique électro-organique des Projectionnistes.

Camera Obscura est une synthèse musicale inusitée, à la croisée du jazz alternatif, du rock actuel, de la fanfare électrique et de la musique pour film imaginaire. Le résultat est aussi étonnant qu’énergique, laissant place à l’éclectisme des compositions et à l’énergie tonifiante de ce type d’instrumentation. En prime : de nouveaux arrangements exclusifs extraits du répertoire des Projectionnistes et de L’Orkestre des Pas Perdus.

Never heard recording of Les Projectionnistes live in concert. The band, augmented to seven members for this occasion, will introduce new material and offer classic hits.

Claude St-Jean has prepared new compositions for the extended ensemble under the theme Camera obscura reflecting his desire to create a musical symbiosis drawing on the funky brass band sound of the L’Orkestre des Pas Perdus, his other group, and the electro-organic mechanics of Les Projectionnistes. A dose of musical energy delivered by three hot brass, two dizzying bass, a howling guitar and cracking drums. Fresh and explosive !
